Yang Qiang, Chairman of Beijing Lutong Group, as a representative of Chinese enterprises, accompanied Premier Li Qiang on his visit to the China Japan South Korea Economic Exchange Conference and delivered a speech
On May 27th, the China South Korea Economic Exchange Conference, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, was held in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. At the exchange meeting, more than 200 Chinese and South Korean entrepreneurs gathered together to participate in the grand event of business exchanges between the two countries. Among them, Yang Qiang, Chairman of Beijing Lutong Group, attended and delivered a speech as a representative of the company.
During the meeting with Yin Xiyue, Li Qiang pointed out that the industrial and supply chains of China and South Korea are deeply intertwined, and the foundation of economic and trade cooperation is solid with huge potential. "Both sides should work together to explore new areas and expand cooperation, seize more development opportunities, resist politicizing and securitizing economic and trade issues, and maintain the stability and smoothness of the two countries' and global industrial and supply chains."
Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated in his speech at the meeting that China and South Korea are inseparable neighbors and partners that cannot be separated. For a long time, China South Korea has achieved remarkable results in economic and trade cooperation, becoming the "ballast stone" of bilateral relations. China has been ranked as South Korea's largest trading partner for 20 consecutive years, and South Korea is China's third largest trading partner. Since 2021, against the backdrop of sluggish global trade, the trade volume between China and South Korea has remained at a high level of over 310 billion US dollars for three consecutive years. As of March 2024, South Korea has established a total of 75000 enterprises in China, with actual investment exceeding 100 billion US dollars. These fully reflect the profound foundation and strong resilience of pragmatic cooperation between the two countries.
Ren Hongbin pointed out that China's unwavering promotion of high-quality development and high-level opening up will provide broad opportunities for Korean enterprises. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) is the largest trade and investment industry promotion organization in China. It has long been committed to promoting economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea. It is willing to work together with relevant institutions in South Korea to strengthen services such as exhibitions, information consulting, dispute resolution, and intellectual property rights, support pragmatic cooperation between enterprises of the two countries, and promote economic and trade cooperation between China and South Korea to a new level.
Li Renhao, Vice President of the Korea Trade Association, stated that in the more than 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, remarkable economic growth has been achieved through economic cooperation, making them the most important trading partners for each other. Currently, competition in the field of high-precision and cutting-edge technology is becoming increasingly fierce worldwide, and trade protectionism and anti globalization trends are also posing challenges to global economic cooperation. In this context, China and South Korea should jointly explore cooperation in the field of cutting-edge technology while maintaining their existing economic and trade cooperation.
At the beginning of this year, the Korean Trade Association conducted a questionnaire survey on Korean companies exporting to China. Although most of the surveyed companies have reduced their business in China after the epidemic, the vast majority of South Korean companies believe that the Chinese market is still a place of opportunity and will plan to expand their business in China in the future. "In order to support these enterprises, the Korean Trade Association will also work closely with the Chinese Embassy in South Korea and the Chinese Embassy in South Korea this year," said Li Renhao.
As a representative of Chinese enterprises attending this conference, Yang Qiang, Chairman of Beijing Lutong Group, stated that since the beginning of this year, the Chinese economy has continued to rebound and achieved a stable start and a good start. Key core technologies continue to make new breakthroughs, and a series of significant achievements have been made in fields such as manned spaceflight, large aircraft manufacturing, nuclear power technology, quantum information, and new energy. "As a business person, I am full of confidence in the prospects of China's economy. People from all walks of life also firmly believe that the Chinese economy will usher in a more magnificent and bright future. The achievement of these achievements not only enhances China's technological capabilities and soft power, but also provides new opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation between China and South Korea."
